“Take the first step, then keep moving forward,” says Perry.
FOUNDER: Founder and Senior Vice President Perry Jones, CFFP, author of
16 books and 60 articles and numerous Quora questions, has received nearly
500,000 views of his articles, answers and books. Mr. Jones started his first
business at age 9 when he bought half-penny candy and then resold it for one
penny to kids in the neighborhood. Later, he filled in for the neighborhood
paper boy when the paper boy was on vacation, bought boxed plastic models
neighbors had received for birthdays and holidays and built the models
reselling them back to the kids, started mowing lawns at age 13, began
preparing his parents taxes at age 15 and by 17 was preparing taxes for the
neighborhood, friends and relatives.
Founder of “Worcester Lunch Couples,” a dating service for busy white-collar
workers who would meet during their lunch hour; “PayPal-to-egold,” which sold
electronic gold; an online auction site; an online travel agency; a chat room;
Mr. Jones also established the first IT department for State Mutual Insurance,
now Hanover Insurance.
Perry established an incorporation service acting as incorporator and
registered agent for companies incorporating in Delaware in the late 1980s. He
also helped develop software and was instrumental in several software products
and services including MathCAD; an early spreadsheet, et al, and was often
sought after for his skills and expertise in AI, machine learning and neural
networks.
Mr. Jones was also a partner in “Flair Management,” a Worcester/Boston area
band management and promotion company and wrote for “Entertainment Source”
magazine, reviewing and interviewing bands and their music. Long before the
extreme security measures stemming from 9/11, Mr. Jones wrote, produced,
directed and starred in the movie, “James Bond, Retired,” using Worcester
Airport as the backdrop. Mr. Jones is also a poet and lyricist having written
over 400 poems and the lyrics to 120+ songs.
At T. Rowe Price, Perry started as a data entry rep then quickly moved to the
floor taking inbound calls where he consistently brought in $900,000 a day in
new accounts. He also developed the training manual, the customer service
system and was the first manager of the T. Rowe Price Customer Software Help
Desk.
At 1-800-Flowers, Mr. Jones established the customer service system, developed
the sales call greeting, and obtained the then-highest single sale in
1-800-Flowers history of $700 – just a year after it opened its Worcester,
Mass telecenter (avg sales call - $30) and became the third-party accounting
services provider for 1-800-Flowers’ Worcester office. In two years, Perry was
a manager of the center, approving the $130,000 monthly telephone bill and
overseeing nearly two dozen direct reports with 900 indirect reports.
(Mr. Jones was not directly employed by either 1-800-Flowers or T. Rowe Price.
Perry was employed by a temp service which had deployed him to a wholly-owned
subsidiary of State Mutual Insurance - 440 Financial Group, whose clients
included T. Rowe Price and 1-800-Flowers.)
BBC – Billionaire Boys Club (Boston area – not the infamous L.A. BBC). Perry
was tri-founder of the Billionaire Boys Club investment club of Worcester,
Mass which saw returns of 34.5% in its first year. Moving to Phoenix, Arizona,
Perry managed a Family Office where his counsel guided the portfolio to 100%
returns year-over-year.
Next, recruited by KPMG, Perry was the sole Tax Accountant for a team that
managed and prepared tax returns for several portfolios ranging from $300
million to $400 million dollars. Here, Mr. Jones developed an algorithm that
separated long-term from short-term gains and interest income from dividend
income, savings hundreds of hours in time and thousands of dollars in clients’
tax liability.
Author of three theories (Hyperspace Calculations, Subliminal Covert Warfare,
Influence of Geography Upon Politics) and creator of two games, (Conqueror’s,
Maf: Starfleet Battles), Mr. Jones was asked in 2017 to help develop the U.S.
Navy’s future strategy, force structure and operational methods; ((Evolution
of the Navy: The Next 50 Years) (Approved January, 2020)).
Mr. Jones’ “very particular skill set” makes all these and all new business
concepts attainable and viable. Mr. Jones learns quickly and has a unique
ability to take available information, even about things he knows nothing
about, blow out the fluff and create a step-by-step plan for success. With
proper funding, all these plans, businesses and goals are doable.
That "very particular skill set" is this:
Perry says, "I suck up information like a vacuum cleaner,"
"I absorb data like a sponge."
"I suck up other people’s skills, experiences, knowledge and wisdom, whether
that is from conversations I am in or overhear, those things I observe, those
things I think about, what I read in books or see on TV or YouTube, what I
hear on the radio, discover on the internet, find in the library; I take all
this data; vast amounts of information, and boil it down. I compare and
contrast it one to another to elicit the truth."
"I separate the meat from the fat and gristle."
"I compile it, taking the essential necessary bits of wisdom and learning and
experiences and turn it into a step-by-step plan that goes from “A” to “Z.”"
"I take out all the B.S. leaving only the truth."
